Skipping Medication

Earlier this week I had the flew. I couldn't keep anything down. I know that some people with mental disorders don't need to take medication but those who do depend on it every day and when the daily dose is missed, that disrupts mental balance for up to a week.

Obviously, not keeping food or fluids down means not being able to take my medication. Fortunately I had a place to stay during this time where I had some one by me if I went into either a manic or depressive episode, they could take care of me. It's important that if this happens to you that you can talk to some one about your situation so they can keep an eye on you, even if it's your Doctor.

I can't express how important it is for you to find a friend, family member or be close to your Doctor for reasons such as these.

You missing your medication is always a worry for me as I know your work schedule and personal schedule some times conflict and your sleep pattern can get off. I was really happy to hear that you were at your parents place this last weekend while you had the flu, so that there was people around you that could be supportive and help you when you needed it. You are very lucky to have a family and friends that want to take an active part in your life and help you should you need it. You in turn make our lives that much richer :)

It strengthens me when I feel that you are thinking of. You will never truly understand all the things I go through but you have opened yourself up to knowing me without judgement. Your friendship is one of a kind and I'm truly blessed. I want others to see that and know how much your friendship has and will make me stronger.
